I was very disappointed in this book! I bought it based on the sample, which was very good. I wish I had read the reviews first. I hate it when intimidation is dressed up to be "romantic". In just the first few pages it presented a heroine who should have been strong and unique as weak willed and stupid with no self control or loyalty and who was being bullied by the so called hero. Yuck! Shame on the writer who always writes kind smart women and heroes with lots of honor and control. I disliked it so much I stopped reading it and deleted it from my account I just wish I could get my money back.Tags : The Perfect Kiss (Merridew Series) [Anne Gracie] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. <b>To rescue her friend from a loveless marriage, a daring woman dons a disguise and finds herself captivated by a mysterious rake in this <b>“perfect</b> Regency romance<b><b>”</b>*</b> from award-winning author Anne Gracie.</b> In three years on the marriage market,Anne Gracie,The Perfect Kiss (Merridew Series),Berkley,0425213455,Romance - Historical - General,England - Social life and customs - 19th century,Historical fiction,Love stories,Love stories.,Man-woman relationships,Regency fiction.,AMERICAN HISTORICAL FICTION,AMERICAN LIGHT ROMANTIC FICTION,FICTION Romance General,FICTION Romance Historical General,FICTION Romance Historical Regency,Fiction,Fiction - Romance,Fiction-Romance,General Adult,Historical romance,MASS MARKET,Regency fiction,RomanceHistorical,Romance: Historical,United States, anne gracie books;romance regency;historical regency romance;romance novels;historical romance books;regency romance books;historical romance;regency romance;historical;regency;romance;literature;love;dating and relationships;friendship;marriage;love triangle romance;strong female lead;marriage of convenience;inheritance;London;England;Great Britain;romance books;fiction;novels;fiction books;books fiction;romantic novels;romance novel;romance book;relationship books;books for women;england, historical romance; regency romance; historical; regency; romance; literature; love; dating and relationships; friendship; marriage; love triangle romance; strong female lead; marriage of convenience; inheritance; London; England; Great Britain; anne gracie books; romance regency; historical regency romance; romance novels; historical romance books; regency romance books; fiction; fiction books; romance books; 18th century; victorian; books for women; relationships; relationship books; love story; 19th century,FICTION Romance General,FICTION Romance Historical General,FICTION Romance Historical Regency,Fiction - Romance,American Historical Fiction,American Light Romantic Fiction,Regency fiction,Fiction,Romance: Historical,Historical romance
The Perfect Kiss Merridew Series Anne Gracie 9780425213452 Books Reviews
This is my favorite of the sisters stores. The hero is funny and oh so naughty. Gracie is the perfect one for him.
The book was an undeniable bit of enjoyment, marking the final volume of the Merridew sisters and their spouses with a bit of village humor for fun.
I love reading. And when a book keeps me enthralled as both a reader and as a flesh and blood person, it's all the better. So well written. Full of surprises and suspense. Lovely characters. Lovely plot. I highly recommend this book!
I gave this book four stars because of all of the character development by almost everyone in the book. A good heroine who inspires loyalty in all she meets and a strong, hard hero who changes the most. The change in him and her influence on events makes everyone's life change..
A hopeless situation forces a Grace to come to the rescue of her best friend, Melly. Dominic Wolfe has no intention of getting married, ever! With a will in the way of a happily ever after, can this mess be resolved.
I enjoyed the book, very much, but a little drawn out for a resolution and a rush to get it all together for the finish.
Really disappointed in this book. The beginning, the setting up of the characters, the plot premise was pretty good and then, as one reviewer put it , it turned into a mess. An emotionally scared hero (no surprise), too much angst, too much thinking and talking about sex, a well as engaging in. And why, oh why was the stupid harem section put in? Filler? took the H and the book way too long to get a grip. Our Gracie needed a delightful book like the first one----My favorite thing about this writer is her ability to write humor. It's terrific.
Let me say the story itself was decent and would have been tolerable to be for a random heroine. In my opinion, it was the wrong story for Grace Merridew and the conclusion of the Virtue Sisters' series.
Grace was the youngest daughter of the family. She didn't remember her parents and have fond memories of their love like her older sisters. She deserved a fairy tale romance. She deserved to be swept off her feet by a dashing gentleman who admired her and treated her with respect. I was disgusted to see her depicted as a companion in disguise who succumbed to frequent kisses from her friend's fiancé. Then, there was the scene where he sucked her toes! Ugh! Finally, she loses her virginity to this cad and the next day, we learn the banns are about to be read for the betrothed couple. Is the hero deterred? No he tells my dear Grace that he intends to keep her as his mistress and leave with her her after his wedding. This is the guy for Grace? I found him completely unacceptable and lacking the honor Grace's hero needed. I wish the brother-in-laws had sent him packing until he proved himself worthy of Grace.
Melly got her prince in the end. Grace, however, should be concerned about the fidelity of her hero. He didn't strike me as the trustworthy, monogamous type.
