The material seemed genuinely original enough and written in a way that non-techie can understand. However, it is not quite a user manual so it does not cover the basic use of the device. And it does not have the "hacking" that I am looking for, namely, how to use the Kindle Fire EFFECTIVELY without wi-fi connection. I cannot set the clock manually. I cannot lock the display into either portrait or landscape mode manually. Therefore I cannot use my Kindle Fire like my other generic Android tablets after all despite having read the book.Product details

was unable to do most of what it talked about. However that is probably more my problem than than the book
Some nice tips, but as a geek who at least likes to read about some serious hacks (although not always brave enough to try them), I didn't find anything extreme here. Still, found some interesting and useful things. Especially liked the Overdrive ebook app, helps to find ebooks & suspicious to borrow from your library.
This 'book' has lots of useful tips, some of which I knew all ready, others were new. Some tips didn't appeal, but that is to be expected. The one thing that really bugged me was the clear absence of an editor. Even asking a friend to read it over first would have caught lots of typos and awkward phrasing. Still worth the price, or even a bit more.
Very easy to follow instructions but I was expecting a bit more,however I did learn some new tricks to get around some of the road blocks with the kindle. I was more interested in how to get flash player but instead got ways to make silk browser faster which I never found silk to be lagging in the first place. Still for the price it is an ok book.
Rather then about hacks, it's about which apps to buy. The highest upgrade mentioned was from a while ago, so most of the app suggestions either don't work or messed up my kindle. There were a couple apps that did work and were free so for that I gave it two stars.
I received this book free from the author through LibraryThing in exchange for an honest review. This book is packed full of useful information on how to navigate the Fire. The author gives excellent tips and workarounds throughout the book. The tutorials are easy to understand and very helpful. Excellent!!! guide for the Fire. I read this on my Dx while I navigated through the tutorials, tips, etc on my Fire HDX.
An interesting read. Through trial and error, I had found many of these workarounds already but it the book still had some tricks that I had not tried. The Fire is an excellent tablet but the can be a little limiting at the moment. For instance, I got my to replace my Nook and wanted to bring in my B&N library to the new device. The Nook reader, an Android app, is not part of the . However, installing it is a simple workaround and now I have the best of both worlds. The tips in this book help you expand your experience without having to hack your device and voiding your warranty.
